2010 - time to try something new!
Although the World Championship 2010 took
place during the international boardgaming fair SPIEL again, it will not
actually be played on the fair, but at a venue in Herne, about 25km away
from Essen.
In 2010 the LWL Museum for Archaeology
in Herne hosted a huge exhibition called "Aufruhr 1225", about the medieval
times in the Ruhr area. Even a lifesize model of a whole castle will be
rebuild next to the Museum (a socalled Motte, the smallest and most common
type of castle in the Ruhr area of that time).
And since the theme of the game Carcassonne
is the biggest remaining medieval fortress in Europe, we thought it would
be
a great idea to play the finals of the Carcassonne World Championship 2010
just there - inside the the LWL Museum for Archaeology in Herne.
The World Championship will be played on
Sunday,
the 24th of October 2010, not at the Essen fair, but in LWL Museum
for Archaeology in Herne, Germany.
Result of the semi-finals:
Martin Moijzis (CZE) vs. Matej
Tabak (SVK) = 90:74
Ralph Querfurth (GER) vs. Randy
